  1. Short:    ImageConvert 1.9, batch converting with ArtEffect, PPaint or PGS2

  6. This is a script that converts images given on the command line to a
  7. certain resolution and color depth using one of the following programs:
  8.  
  9. - ArtEffect2:   tested with version 2.6, 3 and 4
  10. - PPaint:       tested with version 6.4 and 7.x, extra support for 7.x
  11. - Photogenics2: tested with version 2b, not supposed to work with
  12.                 Photogenics NG as it does not have ARexx support
  13.  
  14. It is used mainly for converting a whole bunch of images in one go.
  15.  
  16. I use it with Directory Opus Magellan. You can use it with any other file
  17. manager - not that Opus isn't just a file manager anymore ;-) - that
  18. allows flexible configuration.

  20. I have written it for the purpose of converting the pictures of themes to
  21. a format that Opus can easily load via common picture datatypes for
  22. AmigaOS.

  25. IMPORTANT NOTICE: I decided to release ImageConvert under the GPL starting
  26. with Version 1.9 (1.7.2001). This does not affect earlier versions of
  27. ImageConvert.

  29. Thanks to Greg Perry from GP Software for kind permission to release
  30. ImageConvert independently from the Opus Plus CD-ROM. Good luck with
  31. Directory Opus 6 for Windows. I wish it would be on Amiga, QNX and/or
  32. Linux instead.

  34. When you continue development of ImageConvert I would like to know. I
  35. maybe also can help to avoid that two people are doing the same work at
  36. the same time. I currently have no plans on developing this any further.
